There will be times when documents need to be viewed that are contained within chart sections other than the ones currently available in the chart layout. The Chart Navigator provides a complete Table of Contents for the entire chart and all sections. To display Chart Navigator, Click on the Chart Navigator tabdocked along the bottom edge of the SOAPware screen. If the tab is not currently docked, go to the main SOAPware menu bar, at the top of the chart, and Click on Chart, and then Click on the Chart Navigator menu item. Also, Pressing Ctrl+B retrieves the Chart Navigator.
Chart Navigator is divided into two main sections. The left side lists all the available chart sections, and the right side displays lists of the docutainer/documents in the selected chart section. To display a list of docutainers/documents for a given chart section, simply click to select the chart section on the left, and all available docutainer/documents in that section will be displayed on the right.
The Relationships view is a traditional, common tree view. At the top of the tree view is the patient's name, followed by sectional nodes. Some of the nodes branch further into sub nodes in a hierarchical fashion.

In Chart Navigator, a Docutainer/document can be viewed by Double-Clicking on it in the chart section list, or by clicking once to select it and then clicking on the View icon.
It is also possible to add another chart section to the current chart layout from here. Double-click on a chart section that is not included in the current chart layout, and a new Tab will be added to the current layout in SOAPware.
The Liner Tab view in Chart Navigator consists of one large list with column headers consisting of Date/Time, Physician, Status, and Description. This list or linear view contains every item within the chart listed and are initially sorted by Date/Time. Items in the list can be resorted by Physician, Status, and Description by Clicking the appropriate header.

The Timeline view in the Chart Navigator is mainly for viewing the relationship between document items over time. In this view, years are listed horizontally at the top above the months. Below the timeline bars are the actual documents which are represented as icons arranged vertically.
In order to browse between years, months, or dates, Click the down triangle/arrow below one of the years. This brings up a date control (i.e. calendar) in order to browse to a specific date. Yhe sliding toolbar on the bottom of the Timeline view can also be used to browse earlier and later dates.
