• Use SOAPwares e-prescribing functionality via Rx Manager for prescription generation.

The functionality is turned on in the EHR.

Stage 1 - Roadmap Discussion-Comments

Upgrade to SOAPware v2010.1 in the Spring of 2010 (or subsequent version before October, 2011). Drug-Drug, Drug-Allergy and Formulary checks are to be performed against prescribed meds, Summary Medications, and Summary Allergies.

Before October, 2011, upgrade to a later SOAPware version. In a version subsequent to v2010.1, functionality will be added to:

• Provide certain users with administrator rights to deactivate, modify, and add rules for drug-drug and drug-allergy checking.

• Automatically and electronically track, record, and generate reports on the number of alerts responded to by a user.
