Objective
Implement one clinical decision support rule and ability to track compliance with the rule.

Action-Function
(1) Implement rules. Implement automated, electronic clinical decision support rules (in addition to drug-drug and drugallergy contraindication checking) based on the data elements included in: problem list; medication list; demographics; and laboratory test results.
(2) Notifications. Automatically and electronically generate and indicate in real-time, notifications and care suggestions based upon clinical decision support rules.
Measurement
Attestation that at least one Decision Support Rule (i.e. Clinical Alert) is activated and in use during the reporting period.
Stage 1 - Roadmap Discussion-Comments
Initially, most SOAPware users will likely prefer to utilize the Clinical Alerts functionality in SOAPware in order to accomplish this task.
Clinical Alerts - A basic system to present warnings or notes based on data entered. SOAPware can check for either free text strings or for specific coded elements in either the SOAP or Summary field and will do so at defined times (document open, ST Item inserted). When a notification match is found a small popup appears in the lower left of the screen. Inddition a Service has been made available - View - Notifications that can be docked.
Final Rule: Implement one clinical decision support rule and track compliance with that rule.
