Introduction

The Chart Import function in SOAPware allows users to import a patient’s charts into SOAPware that have been exported from another SOAPware system. This feature is useful for sharing patient charts with other clinics and colleagues that are using SOAPware.

WARNING: When importing a chart, the document that was changed last will overwrite an existing document. For example, if you exported Jim Slim at 2:00pm and imported it on another computer, edited the summary, and exported it and re-imported back to the original database, the changes made to the summary would overwrite any existing information even if the original chart had been changed since the export. Use this feature with caution.

Interface

The Import interface is relatively simple. The first part of the interface is a standard Open dialog box, where you select the file containing the patient records that you would like to import, the second box contains a list of patients, along with Select All, Import and Cancel buttons.

Functionality

To Import a chart, or a group of charts, Click, Chart, Import. You will then be presented with the Open Dialog, browse to the location of the file that you would like to open and Click Open.

Next you will see a list of patients that are available for import, select the patient(s) that you would like to import and Click Import.

After the import is complete, you should be able to access the newly imported patients in SOAPware.
