18. Search Docutainers

The Search Documents tool allows you to quickly find any document in a patient chart by searching for words contained within the document.

The Search Documents function is different from the Chart Searcher optional module; it’s intended to be used for simple single searches on a per chart basis. Chart Searcher allows for more complex queries that can span the entire database.

To access the document search tool, select Search Documents from the Documents menu, located on the main SOAPware menu bar. The Search Documents tool will open.

By default, all documents in the current patient chart will be displayed when the tool is opened.

Enter the word or words you wish to search for in the search box, and Click the Search Button (or Press Enter).

If any of the documents contain your search term(s), they will be listed in the main window of the Search Documents tool.

To view a document, Click on it to select it, and then Click the View Button. Alternatively, you can Double Click the document in the main window. The selected document will open in the appropriate chart section.

To close the Search Documents tool, Click the Close Button.
