SOAP to Summary

There are several methods that you can use in SOAPware to automatically transfer
information from one section of a chart to another. You can transfer information
from the SOAP Note to the Summary or from the Summary to a SOAP Note.

Move data from a SOAP Note to the Summary

The information stored in some SOAP Note fields can be moved to corresponding Summary
fields by using the SOAP to Summary Command. This lets you quickly view the information
from previous SOAP Notes the next time you see this patient.

The SOAP to Summary Command copies data in the following manner:

Assessment SOAP Note field to Active Problems Summary field

Medications SOAP Note field to Medications Summary field

Objective SOAP Note field to Physical Summary field

To use the SOAP to Summary command, switch to a Chart View that has both the Summary
and SOAP note view open. Click, Edit, SOAP to Summary.

You will then see a Data Exchange dialog. If you would like to replace the existing
information in the Summary, Click Replace or if you would like to append to the existing
information, Click Append. If you would like to cancel the operation, Click Cancel.

Moving Individual fields to the Summary

If you would like to selectively move information from the SOAP Note to the Summary,
there are several commands that you can use.

Note: To use these commands, you must be in a view that has both the Summary and
a SOAP Note open. To access the SOAP Notes menu, you must have the SOAP Note activated;
if it is not, Click on the SOAP Note, or press CTRL + E.

To move the Assessment field from the SOAP Note to the Summary, in a SOAP Note, Click
SOAP Notes, Assessment and select Store Assessment. After clicking one of the acceptance
buttons in the Data Exchange dialog, the data will be copied to the Active Problems
Summary field

To move the Objective field from the SOAP Note to the Summary, in a SOAP Note, Click
Objective and select Store Exam. After clicking one of the acceptance buttons in
the Data Exchange dialog, the data will be copied to the Physical Summary field.

To move the Medications field from the SOAP Note to the Summary, go to the SOAP Notes,
Rx menu and select Store Rx. After clicking one of the acceptance buttons in the
Data Exchange dialog, the data will be copied to the Medications Summary field.

To move all three SOAP Note fields to their corresponding Summary fields, go to the
Edit menu and select "SOAP to Summary."
