Introduction

The List Options section of SOAPware controls what options are available for selection in various locations in SOAPware. Here, you can create lists of options, modify existing lists, and remove unused lists or list items.

Interface

The List Options interface consists of two main sections. On the left, you can see the names of the various Lists available to you in SOAPware. On the right is a display that shows you the available choices within each list.

Functionality

The Basics

To use the List Options editor, you must first open it. To open the List Options editor, click Tools, List Options.

To see the options available to you within an existing list, highlight the list you wish to view. The options for that list will be displayed in the right side of the editor.

Creating a New List

To create a new list, click the Create List Button (or press CTRL + Alt + A). This will open the Create List dialog box. Give your new list a name and click "Create". Your new list will be added in the left side of the window.

Now that you have a new list, it needs some list items! See "Modifying an Existing List", below, for detailed instructions on how to add, modify, and delete list items.

Modifying an Existing List

First, select the list you wish to modify so that its corresponding options are displayed.

To add a new item to the list, click the Create List Item Button (or press CTRL + Alt + N). This will open the Create Item dialog box. Give your new list item a name, select its background color, and click "Create". Your new item will be added to the list of available options.

To modify an existing item, click the Edit List Item Button (or press CTRL + Alt + E). This will open the Edit Item dialog box. Here, you can change the name of the item or select a new background color for the item. Once you are satisfied with your changes, click "Save", and your changes will take effect in the list.

To delete an existing item, select it and click the Delete Item Button (or press CTRL + Alt + R). SOAPware will ask you to confirm that you wish to remove the item. Click "Yes", and the selected list item will be removed. Note that in some lists, there are default options that you will be unable to delete. This is to assist in preventing accidental deletions of important items, which could cause loss of functionality and productivity.

Removing a List

To remove an existing list, select the list you wish to delete and click Remove List (or press CTRL + Alt + D). SOAPware will ask you to confirm that you wish to remove the list. Click "Yes", and the selected list will be removed. Note that there are some default lists that you will be unable to delete. This is to assist in preventing accidental deletions of important items, which could cause loss of functionality and productivity.
