The Change Password dialog allows a user to change their current password to a new one.

Interface

The Change Password dialog is a simple interface. It consists of three text boxes: one for the old password, one for the new password, and one to confirm the new password. It also includes a OK and Cancel button.

Functionality

To access the Change Password dialog, simply click Tools, Change Password in SOAPware.

To change the current password, type the old password into the Old Password box, the new password into the New Password box, and then the Confirm Password boxes. For added security the password will be masked as it is typed into SOAPware.

It is recommended that you choose a password that consists of numbers, letters, and symbols. Do not use your name, the word "password", or any other easily identifiable information for a password.

For example, if your name is Dr. Jenkins and you were born on October 1st 1950, in New York: 10011950, NYHOME, Jenkins would not be good passwords. However, o1NYJenk!ns would be a good password, and it would be easy for Dr. Jenkins to remember. The o comes from October (birth month), the 1 comes from the 1st (birth day), the NY comes from New York (birth location), and Jenkins is the last name. We’ve added a ! in place of the "i" in Jenkins as a symbol for added security.

Experiment and come up with your own password. Create something cryptic to the outside world just make sure that you can remember it, and please do not write the password down and stick it to the computer monitor on a post-it note.

Once you have created your new password and have typed it into the appropriate boxes, click OK. Your new password will be set and ready to use the next time that you start SOAPware.
