     The doctor pulls up a unique list of medications based on a specific keyword. He then reviews previous encounters based on a particular diagnosis and then further updates the on-going list of medications.

     

    Activities Demonstrated:

    How to provide the ability to create provider specific medication lists of the most commonly prescribed drugs with a default dose, frequency and quantity.

    How to provide the ability to filter, search or order notes by associated diagnosis within a patient record.

    How to provide the ability to create prescription or other medication orders with sufficient information for correct filling and administration by a pharmacy.

    How to provide the ability to update the medication history with the newly prescribed medications.

    How to provide the ability to associate a diagnosis with a prescription.

    How to provide the ability to enter un-coded or free text medications when medications are not on the vendor-provided medication database or information is insufficient to completely identify the medication.

    How to provide the ability to alert the user at the time a new medication is prescribed that drug interaction and allergy checking will not be performed against the un-coded or free text medication.

    How to provide the ability to prescribe un-coded medications.
