  • Status Box will state what action SOAPwareXchangeHL7 is perfoming at that given moment.  It can be searching for files to process, checking if newly matched patient\physician messages need to be processed, or processing files into SOAPware.
  • Start when clicked SOAPwareXchangeHL7 will start to process any files or messages that may have been waiting since SOAPwareXchangeHL7 was lasting running.
  • Status
    • Messages queued for unmatched patients: will either appear as YES or NO.  If Yes, you will need to manually match a lab file to the patient chart it belongs to.  This is done by clicking Mappings > Edit\View Unmatched Patients, lab files are matched to a patient chart by 4-items (Last Name, First Name, Birthdate, Social Security Number) & if these items do not match 100% the lab file will become queued.  Once matched a link is created between the SOAPware patient & the Lab System with an External ID.  The patient will not have to be matched again unless the lab changes the External ID on the lab file.  NO requires no action.
    • Messages queued for unmatched physicisns: will either appear as YES or NO.  If Yes, you will need to manually match the physician listed on the lab file to a provider in SOAPware.  This is done by clicking Mappings > Edit\View Unmatched Physicians.  Once matched a link is created between the SOAPware provider & the Lab System with an External ID.  The physician will not have to be matched again unless the lab changes the External ID for the phsyician.  NO requires no action.
    • Messages Received: is the number of labs processed by SOAPwareXchangeHL7.  The number will increase by 1 for every lab file that comes through SOAPwareXchangeHL7.  If the lab file gets queued because the patient or physician had to be matched the counter will increase again by 1 after the match is complete & the lab is fully processed.  In short the counter, is the number of lab files SOAPwareXchangeHL7 has reviewed; a lab file can be reviewed more than once before fully processed.
  • File-based Settings
    • Source: this is the folder in which labs files are pulled for processing.  Your Lab company may have software installed on one of your PC's that downloads lab files to your computer for processing by SOAPwareXchangeHL7 into SOAPware.  SOAPwareXchangeHL7 will need to be linked to that folder by clicking Browse & saving the location where the labs are downloaded to.
    • Scan Interval: this is the time in seconds that SOAPwareXchangeHL7 will delay before looking at the Source folder or Port for additional lab files to process.
  • TCP/IP Settings will allow SOAPwareXchangeHL7 to process lab files from a given IP-address\port.  Instead of using a File Based Source to download lab files to, an IP-addrress\port can be setup & SOAPwareXchangeHL7 will check that address\port for files to process into SOAPware.
