In order to process lab results, the XchangeHL7 must be opened and running. This means that any user must sign into it and leave it running, minimized on the taskbar or not. XchangeHL7 does not run as a system service and wont be something that you see in your system tray.

The source folder must be set to whatever directory the lab company is delievering the result files to. If your lab company has not installed any software on their end, then you can just create a new folder whereever you like and tell the lab tech when they install their software.

Your lab results can only be delivered to one folder. That means that if you have multiple labs delievering results then they both must deliever to the same folder. Example: Both Quest and Labcorp are delievering results to your clinic and Quest has already installed their software to deliever to C:\Lab Results. Labcorp must also send their results to that folder. It cannot be a sub folder under the original.

You will occasionally see that there are unmatched pateints and/or unmatched physicians.

To match these, click Mappings - Edit/View Unmatched patients (in this case) and choose the patients name to map to the correct chart.

The first time you run SOAPwareXchangeHL7, you must run it as an administrator.  This will allow the Chameleon HL7 tools to properly register and save the necessary settings to the registry.  After the first time, you should be able to run SOAPwareXchangeHL7 from a regular user account.
