The nature of SMARText is such that the reading of written explanations has not proven to be an efficient means for learning. The most efficient means to understanding has proven to be to actually practice a usage/flow in a fashion (after later customizations) that can possibly be useful in the real world going forward.
This series of workflows are meant to be traversed sequentially so that it can be assumed that the information in the first does not have to be repeated again in the second. This series of 6 workflow experiences should provide the foundation for understanding the most important aspects.
These workflows have been last edited in August, 2008 during the transition from SOAPware version 5 to SOAPware-2008. Most of the screen shots were created in February 2008 in v5. The text is updated for SW-2008, but is generally applicable for v5 as well. Screens and lists will vary slightly depending on many variable other than versions, but the content should be such that you can reproduce the actions. If not, please contact us with the specifics as to where this exercise falls short.
Most of the exercises in these workflows will soon be replaced with easier, more straight-forward methods such as the use of wizards, etc. Please bear with us at this stage of SMARText. it works and is stable but we have not had time to hide some of the complexity. That should be forthcoming in the next few months. The simplification will not replace what you will learn here, but will offer alternative workflows that should prove easier in the beginning.
