Solution

There error is caused by 2 situations...

  • You are using a 64-bit Version of Windows.
    • V5 uses Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 to control many of the soapware functions, vital signs being one of them.  .Net 2.0 has limited functionality with 64-bit Windows & therefore the Vital Signs section of SOAPware V5 will not operate.
    • The only solution for this is to upgrade to SOAPware 2008 which uses Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 that has no functionality limtations with 64-bit Windows.
  • You may have more than one SOAPware open.
    • This may not be noticeable but you can have more than one soapware.exe open.  To check this, Close the current SOAPware you have open > right-click the Windows Task Bar > click Tasks Manager > click on the Processes Tab > look for "soapware.exe", if you see it listed, click "End Process" > Reopen SOAPware & the Vital Signs.

Notes

If your using SOAPware 2008 and you receive this error you may need to repair your Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 Installation or check that don't have more than one "soapware.exe" running in the Task Manager.
