If you are experiencing slowness issues with SOAPware, here are some things to do.
- First, double check your PC specs to make sure they meet the SOAPware V5/2008 requirements. You can find those requirements here.
- Clear your menus. This only applies to sites that used older versions of SOAPware 5, specifically 5.1.8.208 or older. This process WILL reset your toolbars in SOAPware, but you can set them how you want them to be afterwards again and it could speed SOAPware up for you.
In SOAPware, go to Tools, Options. Click Toolbars on the left side near the bottom. Press the Clear button. Click Yes, then click Close on the Options window. Exit SOAPware and restart to see if SOAPware now moves faster. You may have to do this on multiple machines if SOAPware is slow on other computers.
Afterward, you can set your toolbars back up if you want to in SOAPware. Once you've customized them in SOAPware, go back to Tools, Options, Toolbars. Click Save, then OK and Close and they will be saved.
- Make sure your network connection is consistent and strong. If you use SOAPware on multiple computers, then data must be sent over the network. An inconsistent or weak network connection can slow SOAPware down. Confer with your tech to make sure your network is running smoothly.
- Specifically, if your Allergy Pick List is slow, check out this page.
NOTE: Currently (12/15/2008), SOAPware 2008 may have a problem running with Windows OneCare Spyware and Antivirus software. This software may cause SOAPware to run a lot slower and make SOAPware appear as "Not Responding".
