Pick List items don't appear checked even though they have been inserted

I've used a pick list to add items to a field and now when I uncheck them they aren't removed

The auto layout  I've defined for my Pick List doesn't work for some or all of the items I insert.

Situation

Unstructured text cannot be tracked or uniquely ID once it has been inserted, hence the unstructured name. Because of this pure unstructured items are excluded from layout rules and once inserted can't be removed by unchecking the item in the pick list.

Solution

The Discrete Unstructured item is a SMARText item that has many of the properties of unstructured text but maintains it's ID. When using this item you will notice that the brackets appear only around the Discrete Item NOT around the whole field as with Unstructured. This signifies the level at which SOAPware tracks the item. Discrete Items can be safely used with Pick Lists and will obey the layout rules.
