hi guys... i am now 3 days into using v5.18... very frustrating and slow learning curve so far...

i am trying to create a list, from which i can pick multiple items... for example, in the "Surgery" section, a list would pop up with a list of the common surgeries - "Appendectomy, Hysterectomy", etc... i would then pick any number of entries which it would then insert at one time, (with a comma separator).... this would minimize the number of "clicks" and minimize typing...

i am sure this is possible, but please advise on how to do this....

i have learned quite a bit about ST in just 2 days, and i feel it is quite powerful, but with little documentation and few easy to follow examples, it has been frustrating...

please advise - thx

What you want to do is already set up in SW5 - no need to create this on your own.

Open the Docuplates Manager (F6 or Docutainers->Docuplates) and make sure you are connected to the internet and the box to check the Soapware (SW) library is checked (bottom left corner). Then type "sumpl" in the search bar and hit the search icon. Find this item in the list, highlight it, and click on the blue down arrow icon on the top bar. (This will download it to your local computer.) Next, go to Tools->Chart Section Editor. Scroll down to the Summary title and highlight it, then click on the highlighted icon at the top right. Now highlight the user and uncheck "Use Defaults". Click on the button with "..." and then scroll down to SumPL and select this. Close the Edit Chart Section Defaults. Finally, log out and then sign back in.

Now, when you create a new chart the Summary Section will have sub-sections. In the surgery section will be a ST item called Surgeries. When you click on this, a pick list will be presented with various surgeries listed. Simply check the box(es) for the appropriate surgeries and they will populate the field. If a surgery you want is not listed, you can type it in the comment section at the bottom of the ST Quick Access window.

In other sections, such as Family History, Tobacco, Alcohol, etc. there will be similar sub-sections and you will get pick lists to choose from, again making entering information very quick and easy.
