Helpful Computer Terms-
Drag
Point to an item using your mouse then press and hold down the left
mouse button as you move the pointer and the item to another location. Then release the button to relocate the item.
Also, you can drag to resize windows, move icons, or scroll
A Cursor
Displays the insertion point where you can enter data.
Cut, Copy & Paste
If you cut text then it will disappear from the screen
and be placed in the Clip Board for pasting, deleting or copying.
you must first select the information by dragging over the text
to highlight.
After highlighting the text you can right click and choose Cut,
Copy or Paste.
In addition, you can use the Ctrl + C to copy, Ctrl + V to paste
and the Ctrl + X to cut.
An automatic setting which the computer uses unless you
specify another setting. A default setting is the way something
is automatically done.
Are displayed after choosing a command and include additional options.
A graphic symbol that represents a command or a picture that represents an application, a file, or a system resource.
Can be located on the bottom or sides of the screen. Allows you to view text that is not visible on the screen.
This is commonly known as dragging over the text and highlighting. After selecting you can cut, copy and paste.
Can be located at the top, bottom or sides of the screen. They contain icons for commonly used commands or domains.
